2010"Equine Images"
Amateur Photography Contest

CSI
is pleased to announce we are now accepting entries
in the Third Annual Equine Images Photography Contest!
Please
read the RULES
carefully before entering!
|
Photo
Categories:
Performance:
Sport Horse performance in motion (i.e. Dressage,
jumping events, combined driving, driven dressage)
in training, work or competition, all breeds allowed.
Race horse/track photos not eligible for this category.
Horses
and Humans: Show
the relationship between horse and human. Must show
horse(s) and human(s) interacting,
all breeds allowed.
Head
Study: One
or more horses, head only, no people,
all breeds allowed.
At
Liberty: Show
the horse in its natural environment: pasture, in
the wild, etc. May or may not be in motion, all breeds
allowed.
Humor:
This category will be judged on the photographic
quality of the photo and also the ability to inspire
laughter! Keep in mind "humor" is subjective
but if your photo doesn't make you laugh out loud,
it may tickle the judge's funny bone too!
Creative: This category will allow computer
alteration of images, either enhancement, combining
images, or any creative techniques you can imagine!
The entries will be judged on the quality of the photos
and the creativity of techniques applied to the photos
as well. The photographer must have taken all images
used in this category.

Entry Deadline:
Electronic
Submissions & payment must be received no later
than August 15th 2010
Payment by check must be postmarked
no later than August 14th, 2010
Top
10 photos in each category will be posted on the CSI
web site
Winner’s
announced via email no later than September 5th, 2010
& posted to the web site immediately thereafter.

Judging:
The
contest entries will be judged by Jan Galland, Horse
Feather Photos. Jan is an award winning professional
photographer who's photos are currently on display on
the web and beginning June 15th, Jan will have some
of her equine theme photos on display at the Mary Karam
Gallery in Texas. For more information and to view Jan's

Feather Photo
Jan will evaluate entries for usage of light, color,
creativity and impact, equipment expertise, plus technical/artistic
expertise and suitability of photos to category entered.
Feedback
will be offered to the top 10 photos in each category
via email.

Prizes:
Top
10 photos in each category would be loaded to the web
for public viewing. Final decisions would be made from
those top 10.
Ribbons
will be awarded to the top 6 places in each category
with email notification and photos displayed on the
web with their placing indicated.
Ribbons will be mailed to the participant after judging
is complete.
Judges feedback will be returned to the top 10 entries
in each category via email.
Viewer's Choice award voting will take
place from the winning entries once the entries are
posted on the web & the results will be posted after
voting is complete (voting will be open for one week.
Viewer's choice results will be posted on the CSI web
site.
